What are bioidentical hormones?
Bioidentical hormones contain an exact chemical replica of the hormones produced in the body, including estrogen, testosterone and DHEA. Sometimes, people who undergo hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are often prescribed synthetic hormones. Unlike bioidentical hormones, synthetic hormones use conjugated to approximate the effects of natural hormones.
How do you take bioidentical hormones?
Usually doctors prescribe bioidentical hormones in a cream dosage, which patients apply to their skin. In a process known as compounding pharmacy, pharmacists create these dosages to meet the unique needs of the patient. Conventional hormone replacement therapy usually takes a "one-dose-fits-all" approach.
Whatever road you choose, there are resources to help you. A healthy diet, meditation and exercise and vitamin supplements are wonderful tools that complement better health, no matter what stage of the journey you're on or which mode of treatment you choose.
