As a Pro bodybuilder and personal trainer I'm often asked questions about the most common training error. Although there are many, the one that is most easily corrected is an error in nutrition. I'm asked frequently by men and women "I'm training very hard...what should I eat?" Beyond the low calorie, lean meats in the form of white meat, mercury free fish and vegetables. I tell them that no matter what you eat, you will not be able to replace some basic vitamins and minerals which are essential to normal anabolic metabolism. Without these basic products, you're beating a dead horse. Your body just won't respond. You will wonder why you're not seeing the gains that should be expected with the great effort that you're putting forth. To replace these minerals and vitamins naturally with oral intake would require you to eat the source fruit, vegetable and "organ meats" all day long in large quantities. You wouldnt have time to work out. I have provided a list in order of absolutely essential to moderately necessary (1-3) realizing that all decisions are financial. My preferred vitamin vendor is Douglass Labs. The products are highly regulated and are distributed only through professionals, mostly physicians. Buyer Beware, if you purchase over the counter vitamin products from GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and various drugstores, the contents are poorly regulated and may contain various amounts of the intended agent as well as high amounts of fillers and additives.
